Franklin C Rowell

Franklin C Rowell from Pawtucket signed on as a radio operator with Pan-American Airways Company on a 3 motor 15 passanger airplane flying daily between Florida and Cuba.

Rowell was transmitting and receiving radio messages at age 13 on a set he built himself.

During the uprisings in China, when missionaries lives were in danger. Rowell was able to send and receive messagesw for Robert Cushman whose daughters we working in the mission fields of China.

Albert G Lupien

Albert P Lupein was a well known radio amature well known in the Blackstone valley area who became a Ships wireless operator.

In January of 1935 he was on the Steamer Lexington when it sank in the East River in Newy York. Ironically suting the sinking he became entangled in the ships antenna wires. Fortunatly another Rhode Islander, Eddie Downes, the ships orchestra leader set him free when he was floating by in his life jacket.

Aldei A Morin

Aldei A Morin was a radio operator on board the Ambrose Channel Lightship. He waspart of a crew of 14 for six years in 1935 when the ship collided with the Grace Liner Santa Barbara in the Ambrose Channel.

Priorto that service he wasa wireless operator on board tankers for the New Emgland Oil Company.
At home he operates a amateur transmitter and receiver with the call W1BRUX

Andrew Voikos

In 1943, Sargent Andrew Voikos was the radio operator of a Flying Fortress Crew at the Walla Walla Army Airbase, Washington where he was completing his training before being shipped overseas. His early training was conducted at Chanute Field.

George Heath

In 1943/1944, George Heath served on 19 missions in 14 months as radio operator. He served with Navel Air Group 25 against the Japanese. He set a record for sustained combat averaging 4 hours per day for 25 consecutive days during the Marianus Operation.
